A Khanda — the principal emblem of Sikhism, consisting of a double-edged sword (khanda) in the center, a circular throwing weapon (chakkar), and two single-edged swords (kirpans) on either side. The symbol represents the spiritual and temporal power of Waheguru (God), the unity of the divine, and the duty of Sikhs to defend justice. Sikhism, founded by Guru Nanak in the Punjab region in the 15th century, now has over 25 million adherents worldwide.

The Khanda appears on the Sikh flag (Nishan Sahib) at every gurdwara. Used for Sikh cultural and religious content, Punjabi diaspora community discussions, Vaisakhi celebrations, discussions of Sikh history and traditions, and any representation of Sikhism as a distinct faith with its own rich theological and martial heritage.
