The flag of Saint Barthélemy, a French overseas collectivity in the Caribbean, commonly known as 'St. Barts.' While the official flag of the territory is the French Tricolor, the island has its own distinctive coat of arms-based flag featuring a white field with three gold fleurs-de-lis at the top representing the historic French colonial heritage, three crowns at the bottom recalling the unique Swedish period, and the stylized initials 'SB' in the middle on a Maltese cross. This tiny island, just 25 square kilometers in size, is one of the most exclusive luxury destinations in the world, attracting celebrities, billionaires, and royalty.

Discovered by Columbus in 1493 and named after his brother Bartolomeo, the island had a fascinating colonial history including a Swedish period from 1784 to 1878 (hence the Swedish-influenced capital Gustavia named after King Gustav III of Sweden). The island is particularly famous for its New Year's celebrations when the harbor fills with mega-yachts owned by the world's wealthiest people.
