The flag of the Bahamas, a Caribbean nation comprising over 700 islands and 2,400 cays in the western Atlantic Ocean, southeast of Florida. The flag features a black triangle on the hoist side with three horizontal stripes of aquamarine, gold, and aquamarine. The aquamarine represents the surrounding waters and sky, the gold symbolizes the sun and sandy beaches, and the black triangle represents the strength of the Bahamian people pointing toward the rich resources of land and sea.

Adopted on July 10, 1973, when the Bahamas gained independence from Britain. The country is famous for crystal-clear turquoise waters, pink sand beaches (especially on Harbour Island), and exceptional diving. Notable attractions include the famous swimming pigs of Big Major Cay, the Atlantis Resort, the pink flamingos of Inagua, and the historic pirate city of Nassau.
