The flag of Armenia, a landlocked country in the South Caucasus region. It features three equal horizontal bands of red, blue, and orange (apricot) from top to bottom. The red symbolizes the blood shed by Armenians for freedom, the blue represents the right to live peacefully under clear skies, and the orange represents the creative talent and hardworking nature of the Armenian people.

The flag was adopted in 1990 shortly before independence from the Soviet Union. Armenia is famous for being the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD. Mount Ararat, where Noah's Ark is said to have rested, is a sacred symbol of Armenian identity.
