An upward arrow — one of the most universally used directional symbols, representing upward movement, increase, improvement, and the direction 'up' in every context. Arrows were humanity's first abstract directional symbols — pointing to indicate where to go before written language existed. Up arrows in digital interfaces scroll content, navigate menus, and indicate increasing values.

'Up' carries positive associations in most contexts — prices up (good for sellers), scores up (good for players), mood up (good for wellbeing). Used for directional navigation, increasing metric celebration, scrolling instruction, navigation and wayfinding, map orientation, positive trend indication, and any context requiring the clearest possible visual communication of the upward direction.
