A hamsa — the palm-shaped amulet used as a protective symbol across Jewish, Islamic, and broader Middle Eastern and North African cultures. The hamsa (also called the Hand of Fatima in Islamic tradition and the Hand of Miriam in Jewish tradition) is one of the oldest protective symbols in the region, predating both religions.
