The flag of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a federation in the Middle East on the eastern Arabian Peninsula. It uses the Pan-Arab colors with a red vertical stripe on the hoist side and three horizontal stripes of green, white, and black on the fly side. Red represents unity and strength, green symbolizes prosperity, white represents neutrality, and black represents oil wealth.

The flag was adopted on December 2, 1971, when the seven emirates—Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah—formed the federation. Thanks to vast oil reserves, the UAE has become one of the world's wealthiest nations. Dubai is famous for the Burj Khalifa (the world's tallest building at 828 meters).
