The flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country in the Balkans of Southeast Europe. The flag features a blue field with a yellow right triangle running diagonally from the upper hoist corner to the lower fly corner. Along the longest side of the triangle are seven full white five-pointed stars and two half stars at the top and bottom, suggesting an infinite progression. The triangle represents the three constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosniaks, Croats, and Serbs) and roughly approximates the geographical triangular shape of the country.

The white stars symbolize Europe and represent the country's aspiration to join European integration. The flag was imposed in February 1998 by the international High Representative as a neutral symbol after the country's three ethnic groups couldn't agree on a design following the devastating Bosnian War (1992-1995). The capital Sarajevo is often called the 'Jerusalem of Europe' due to its remarkable religious diversity. Mostar's iconic Stari Most bridge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
